Octavia B Brown
Octavia B Brown of Lander, died at Lander Regional Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer on
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011. She was 77 years old.
Per Octavia's request she will undergo cremation and no services will be held.
Octavia was born on May 21, 1933 in Wagoner, OKto Julia Hall and Fred VanVooren .
On August 11th, 1967 Octaviamarried William W Brown in Modesto, California. Octavia and Bill
moved to Lander in 1974 making Lander their home. Bill and Octavia owned and operated the Sears
Catalog store in Lander from 1976 until 1986. She also worked side by side with her husband at the
Commons, the Grand Teton Lodge, and the Inn at Lander.
Her hobbies included gardening in her yard, her animals, especially Sassy, and anything that involved
geology, archaeology and the Smithsonian.
She is survived by her nephew David Beigle of California, numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father.
